Antalis, a global leader in the distribution of Papers, Packaging and Visual Communication, part of KPP Group, has signed a binding agreement to acquire the distribution activities of Papyrus in Switzerland, Czechia, Slovakia, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Germany.
The closing of the deal is subject to customary closing conditions and competition authorities’ approval in some European countries. All entities will remain independent until the closing.
This acquisition would further strengthen Antalis’ distribution network and customer reach across Central and Eastern Europe. By combining the acquired business and its established customer base and logistics infrastructure with Antalis’ existing presence in the region, Antalis would reinforce its position as a leading European B2B distributor and further strengthen its ability to serve customers across these markets.
The acquired businesses generated approximately €215 million in net sales in FY2025, employing 255 people and serving more than 13,000 customers with an assortment of 21,000 SKUs of printing and office papers, supported by an operational network of 12 warehouses across the region.
Hervé Poncin, Chief Executive Officer of Antalis:
“We are pleased to welcome the team of Papyrus Central and Eastern Europe to Antalis. This acquisition is an important step in strengthening our presence and distribution capabilities across these regions. The combination of our respective customer bases, teams and logistics networks will enable us to further develop our offering and provide even stronger support to our customers in the region."
Niklas Berntsson, President and Chief Executive Officer of OptiGroup, stated:
“Following a strategic review of our business, we have decided to sell our papers distribution activities in these markets to Antalis. We believe Antalis is well positioned to continue developing the business and to provide continuity for our customers.”
