Choosing paper is a creative act!

The concept

To promote, and share with the world, your most stand-out projects, we have continued our work with our editorial partner The Brand Identity whose digital reach across the industry will provide you instant recognition. The Antalis Creative Power Awards includes 4 application categories where design, paper choice and print execution will be assessed. There are also 3 special prizes, aimed at celebrating printers' and designers' creativity and engagement. To “judge” your projects, or rather seek help on finding the most exquisite or striking, we have gathered high profiles from the print and graphic design community. These include our partners Hinderer + Mülich and Monotype together with Positive Luxury, our partner on ESG.

Within the four application categories, we hope to inspire you with designs from over 35 countries and 3 continents. We'd love you to discover graphic trends and display various print effects and paper uses. From minimal style to more traditional design, these categories are open to any print project made with our premium materials, this not only includes our creative papers ranges, but also our design and recycled papers and our boards and other speciality materials.

Choosing paper is a creative act and it is always meaningful. Your printed work triggers emotion, creates desire and can also reflect your engagement for a cause. So can your creativity. Through 3 special prizes, we want to put your creative thinking in the spotlight. From the choice of a paper to answer a customer’s specific brief, through to the preference of a font against another to decrease the ink need, or with the adaptation of the actual size of a printed object to avoid paper waste - all the choices taken by printers and designers make an impact. More and more creatives also run side-projects for a cause they believe in and through the Creative Power Awards, we want to highlight this great work.

Paper stories

What is the advantage of paper within a communication campaign? How can the choice of a specific paper support brand repositioning? Can it help a brand appear funnier, more glamorous, more eco-friendly, or more premium?

Tell us how Antalis has helped you choose the right paper for a printed communication project.

Design for good

From activist design to designs supporting environmental and societal causes, designers for good should be put in the spotlight.

Print excellence

In addition to all of the above, the Print Excellence special prizes will be awarded to a chosen project from all of the entries submitted. All projects will be assessed on varying criteria, including the level of print execution. The best-rated projects will be reviewed a second time by the jury's print expert, to select the projects displaying the most demanding techniques, mixing various print effects and with perfect execution.

The jury

We have gathered industry experts including creative printers, branding or ESG experts, font designers, or die-manufacturers all of whom with meet in Paris mid-June to assess the projects together.

Rewards

6 projects per category will be selected as finalists and each will receive a reward. The printers of finalist projects will receive a voucher for Hinderer + Mulich die, to the value of 400€ and the designers or agency will receive a year's subscription to Monotypefont.com, with an estimated monthly value of 500€.

The finalists will be revealed via Antalis social media throughout summer and each finalist project will be published in a printed magazine. A selection of finalist projects will feature on The Brand Identity's social media channels, and relevant stakeholders will be invited to participate in related interviews.

For the lucky winners

Winners will not only receive a bespoke award handcrafted by the paper artist Maud Vantour, they will also be interviewed by The Brand Identity and have their project shared across all platforms associated with both The Brand Identity and Antalis. In addition, the application category winning project's stakeholders will dine for free together in a top UK restaurant and winners of the special prize will have the opportunity to attend an Arjowiggins' mill visit. The social media exposure and associated opportunity for creative printers and designers to present their work in this way will be a significant reward in itself!
