In a demonstration of the power of supplier consultation, Avon Signs turned to Antalis to help them deliver a more sustainable solution for the UK retail sector. The project showcases how strategic consultation and material innovation can lead to smarter, greener outcomes.
Avon Signs, a respected provider of signage and visual display solutions to major retailers across the UK, approached Antalis, a leading supplier of visual communications substrates, in search of environmentally responsible alternatives to conventional display materials. The conversation was initiated by Antalis’ Ecobox – a collection of Antalis’ sustainable substrates – which inspired Avon Signs to explore how they could integrate more eco-conscious products into their offer.
To support the process, Mike Collins, Roll Media Product Manager and Kelly Richings
Account Manager, both from Antalis, provided in-depth guidance on suitable materials for retail display. Their technical knowledge across both rigid boards and roll media helped streamline the selection process and ensure a precise fit for Avon Signs’ needs.
Avon Signs was already using Triaprint R Recycled Black Core, a lightweight yet highly durable alternative to ACM (aluminium composite material). This 100% recyclable substrate, made with recycled content, offers strong environmental credentials without sacrificing performance. Building on this, Mike introduced Avon Signs to Coala PP Stick Latex Printable – a PVC-free self-adhesive film that boasts excellent printability, long-lasting durability, and availability in both matt and gloss finishes. The combination of Triaprint and Coala PP Stick was an ideal pairing for Avon Signs’ retail clients seeking sustainable display solutions.
The collaboration has already resulted in Avon Signs exploring additional products from the Antalis sustainable portfolio, including Lumex, Xanita, and Exten Prime Ex PP double-sided banner, with a view to integrating these into future projects.
Paul Aubrey, Graphic Manager at Avon Signs commented: “We are being asked more and more for sustainable solutions from our customers. Working with Antalis has been invaluable in helping us to achieve this. The wide range of sustainable products and the knowledge they offer has allowed us to expand our range considerably and has been a great success on our recent project.”
This cooperation highlights how consultation and shared sustainability goals between supplier and client can drive innovation and environmental progress. Mike Collins, Antalis commented “The Antalis–Avon Signs collaboration stands as a strong example of how businesses can work together to support the growing demand for sustainable and more responsible retail solutions.”
