Being a world leader in creating high-quality aluminium extruded profiles for the mechanical engineering industry. The customer faced a challenge of how to send their fragile but bulky products to several European countries whilst both optimising the packaging and ensuring the protection of the items whilst shipping.
The company needed to be able to send its bulky, fragile products of differing dimensions to different European countries, whilst ensuring shipping quality and optimising the packaging.
We are able to offer innovative solutions to complex packaging needs so our customers are able to optimise transportation costs and product protection.
Foam racks were designed to protect the delicate products during transportation, and fit perfectly into the outer packaging.
The racks are made from non-cross linked PE foam, with toothed strips allowing the profiles to be slotted in. The racks are identical with the center rack being flipped to protect the curvature of the profile. To maximise space, two layers of products can be placed in the outer packaging.
As small amounts of materials are used, the unit cost is lower. In addition, there are no tooling costs.
The packaging volume is optimised and adaptable; two layers can be placed in the cardboard, thus reducing logistics costs.
This product comprises just one PE component and the packaging.
