A photo laboratory selling photo printing, inkjet printing, photo album design, framing and wall decoration via its e-commerce site were looking to improve their packaging. They wanted to significantly reduce their high level of product returns due to products getting damaged and breaking in transit.

The client’s challenge

Following the exponential growth in its online sales and the increase in product shipments, this photo laboratory was experiencing a high product return rate due to items getting damaged in transit. This was down to the packaging not being suitable for their different frame formats, which generated negative feedback on their website, and greatly affected the brand image, slowing down the company’s sales.

"The objective was to find a suitable tailor-made solution to protect the frames in transit. We took into account the various frame formats whilst keeping a competitive level of pricing, and thereby improving the customer experience. The packaging proposed had to meet multiple standards and specific technical criteria, and also be easy to handle."
