Inkjet is clearly the technology of the future with higher quality and sheet-fed applications. There were 3 stands of development around sheet-fed inkjet printing: Xerox® Brenva™ HD, Océ VarioPrint i300 and Fujifilm Jet Press 720 have been designed for higher volume applications than toner presses of the same format. On the electrophotography side, digital embellishment was everywhere with varnish and foil, with on-line and off-line solutions in order to add more value to the printed documents. And of course Benny Landa drew huge crowds!

Hp Indigo

HP launched several updated versions of their HP Indigo systems as well as a few new sheet-fed and web-fed models for the Commercial Printing market and the Labels & Packaging market respectively.

Commercial Printing

Hp Indigo 5900

HP Indigo 5900

The latest series 2 press (HP Indigo 5900) includes high-impact inks (white ink, fluorescent pink ink and transparent ink) and an on-press ElectroInk primer allowing synthetics and extra thick substrates up to 550 microns to be printed. The One Shot technology (all colour separations are accumulated on the blanket and transferred to the substrate in a single pass for perfect registration) also extends media capabilities to unique substrates including canvas, synthetics, lenticular, and metallised media.

It can print 68 A4 pages (4 colours, two-up) per minute.
